Sky Sports News - not Sky Sports One.

I don't get it - they are already on Freeview, I get Sky 3, Sky Sports News and Sky News - you sure it doesn't mean they are being taken OFF Freeview?

Rich

<EDIT>Oh I get it - they are staying on Freeview we are just expected to pay for them now.</EDIT>

They really have to be careful with how many subscription based services they let onto 'Freeview'. In my view, Sky should not be able to do this!

Yea, they're coming off, and I assume the 4 new channels will be completely different.

I also agree FREEview should be free, ffs.

Setanta are also launching on 'Freeview' on 1st March (i think). They will be be charging £10.99 a month to show things including Premiership matches.

I'm just gutted that i won't be able to get SSN and Sky News in Freeview anymore.

Hang on, i'm trying to get my head around that. So, essentially they're taking the channels off Freeview, to make people sign up and pay a subscription for the same channels on 'digital terrestrial'. Is that essentially it?

If so, erm.. great?

I'll gladly sacrifice all 3 channels to get Premiership matches though.

But you have to pay. Why not just get a Sky Sports package.

Because i don't want the hassle of dishes, phonelines and dozens of other awful channels. :)

I'm hoping there will be TvTuner cards for PC's offering this PPV service.
