Hi all,

I’m in the process is an upgrade (3900x -> 5900x, EK block on my 3090FE and switching fans over to SL120’s).

I heard that 16mm fittings were tight on the PE rad with these fans and right enough they are. I recall someone taking a dremel to the fan nearest the fitting but can’t find the post. Any thoughts?

Alternative option is I will install fans last.

cheers!

You could use extensions to bring the inlet/outlet above the fans. Something like this or this (they come in different colours) would do the job. Twin packs such as this and this work out cheaper. They are available up to at least 50mm long.
This.
I always use extensions if there's fans installed on the same side as the inlet/outlet. Also needed when using an angled one, as certainly will be blocked by the fan.

Thanks for the advice :)

Update - I managed to get both 3 x fans in pace by installing the fittings and tube runs first, not the easiest thing to do when they are in a case but a flexible screw driver helped.

Air pressure leak tested and fine so far…. Tomorrow I’ll be putting the wb on the 3090
