Slashed.

Do call the Police, so they can at least log it. I had some stuff taken out of mine & as others had as well that night & last week or so, they took prints and all sorts. You never know if there is a spree going on or they might be known to them already.

Sorry to ehar that OP, bloody shocking :(

Would probably be worth asking him about, maybe mention you are going to report it to the police and wanted to know if he had any information which might be helpful.

Already approached him and told him that the police were getting a report and when asked if I knew who might have reason to do it I would be telling them him (as a result of him storming over all Mr Traffic Warden)

He seemed relatively uninterested and oddly unfazed by the (indirect) accusation of vandalism. Usually one has a little bit of a reaction to being pointed a finger at but not this guy.

Police were around within 20 minutes to check the damage and put a report in so I have that for insurance purposes if needs be. Understandably what can they do? No evidence, no way to prove it was someone.

Go and slash all 4 of his tyres and carve a smiley face on his bonnet, or better yet, carve a smiley face in his back.

Then stick a troll face meme on his windscreen.

Seriously though, that's such a horrible thing to have happen to any car let alone a great looking one like yours. :( Hope it gets sorted with minimal cost.

sorry to hear about this, i hate it when someone parks too near me in a car park etc.. let alone when someones does this much damage :(.

hope you get it sorted & i hope the person\s who did it gets found out too asap.

^ I'm glad I'm not the only one who's massively OCD about their car, I'd sooner get the bus into town than take the car and park in a public carpark.

i dont care if the car or my shuff is worth a pound or a million i always look after it !, however i did not when i was a young young kid, but i soon learned money does not grow on tress so to speak so i care for my stuff a bit too much at times.

& yes my folks & a few mates of mine say you DO have OCD looking after your car etc,,,

Why own a car at all? Confuses me. Must be the fact i have only ever owned cars worth £1100.00 lol.

****ers Mate. Feel for you. Hope your going to install a camera if you can get one.

Because I enjoy driving it and looking after it, it is afterall the most expensive thing I own. I don't want inconsiderate's damaging it.

I do actually drive to work and to my girlfriends and I do park in car parks, but only parksafe style ones where there's loads of free bays.

Sorry to hear about this also.
Maybe you should pressurise the car when the top is up and you're not around so the vandal gets some karma a la this video I saw last night:

...I of course jest, don't create some contraption to do so :p

My merc has a pretty exotic pain job so i find myself in a similar situation. In car parks i try and park in open areas, and never put my car between 2 driver doors (even when in another vehicle that i dont have much consideration for). it winds me up massively when they put those stone chippings on some roads each year because my merc will not leave my drive for a month.

I can't be as anal as that unfortunately as I need to get to work :(

Alas my car has less paint on it this year, than it did last year.

Understand your point. I think its down to i drive a banger and you probably have a nice car :p

Had a discussion with insurance. Loss of 3 years NCB (Bringing it down from 7 to 4) and an approximate policy hike of 15%. Not as bad as I was expecting but this is an approximation only, could work out less than 15% at renewal time or more.

I only renewed in April so I assume if I claim now that's the entire year written off for NCB generation?

Don't they ignore NCB bonus over 5 years anyway? So that shouldn't hurt too much. What sort of excess is it? :(

£200 excess.

Not extortionate but not pocket change either :/

Insurance Route
£200 Excess
£40-75 Policy Hike (Between 10 and 20% say)
Gets me a new roof from Honda, warranted by them also.

Aftermarket Option with the chap in Swansea
£260 parts/labour
£100-200 ferry fee
£X for accommodation
£x for fuel
Looking at over £500-600 total, will not touch my insurance NCB/Premium but also not going to have a Honda warranted roof and if something were to go wrong I'm stuck in Jersey and he is in Swansea.

I've never claimed on my insurance before now so sod it, I'll eat the NCB loss and premium hike - totally annoying as hell but it will work out cheaper.

Probably comes from living on Jersey - not enough road to get up to speed to damage anything.
