Sleeping Dogs - GTA Meets Yakuza?

Lot of people enjoying this, but there's something about it that's making it look kinda ordinary to me. Not sure why that is, maybe I'm just bored of open word games, it's the same stuff we've done a million times before.

It does look great though running at max on the pc so might pick it up when it's cheaper.
 
Yeah it is pretty much just another open world crime themed game, so nothing too special.

I'm only interested in this to see how well they reflect Hong Kong and it's culture with any accuracy or dramatic flair.

I do find it amusing that a lot of the Cantonese spoken in the game sounds a bit too robotic.
 
I dont understand the hate, imo it has a great storyline and good voice acting.

has a nice atmosphere about it being of an asian setting. the fight mechanics are superb but then i hear GSP from MMA did the fight stuff so its no wonder :)

If you enjoyed the likes of saints row/gta then you will like it
 
Well I've been playing this all night (Pc Version) and I think it's excellent. Driving is fairly simple but the combat is great and the setting is really enjoyable, beautiful game too, especially when it's raining :eek:
 
Hey Guys

Love this so far, haven't got to any driving bits yet as I'm only a little way in , about the fighting , when your opponents turn red I take it this is the time you can get a counter in?

But do I tap the triangle or hold it down to counter when they are red?

I seem to get hit a few times even when I press counter , I take it its something that takes a bit of getting used to and you only have a very small window to counter?
