Slow Internet (but only on 1 pc)

Good afternoon, i recent purchased a custom built PC from Overclockers, however i am having problems with the internet connectivity.

i am hard wired into a virgin media super hub 30mb/s

however i am only receiving 3-4mb/s maximum.... if i plug my ethernet cable into another pc/laptop they get 30mb/s.

i can only assume its a setting of some sort on my PC.

any help would be much appreciated

Does it work okay if you boot into safe mode?

Just booted into safe mode and done a speed test... and i got the full 30/31 mbp

what does this mean?

It means that it's a software problem.

Something that's running at startup is probably the cause. Try disabling any security software to see if that helps. If it doesn't disable all the startup items you can, and then individually enable things until you find the culprit.
