Slow Powerline Connection - Any way to spped it up?

Try updating firmware? Or maybe try the 500mb version? Have you got a longer ethernet cable, so you can try the main homeplug from a different location?

I'll get a longer Ethernet cable to try the other dual socket in the study.

Failing that, guess I'll try a wireless N+ USB adapter . . .

I would have a play around this area to. I found having our TV plugged into the other socket deteriorated the speed, moving it to another twin plug and having nothing else in the pair with the home plug helped loads.

You could also switch off the electric & unscrew socket, & check the wiring is correct & connections are tight in the socket.
