My MAX regrade was done today, after a first reboot of my router i was getting
Upstream Speed
448 kbps
Downstream Speed:
8128 kbps
now several hours later i am getting
Upstream Speed
448 kbps
Downstream Speed:
7968 kbps
Both reported by the router,
ADSL guide speed test is telling me im only getting 2mb downstream
Now this is no worse than i was on before the regrade, and the package is about £1 a month cheaper, the better upload is a bonus but with every test i ran over the last month or so it was all saying i could get 8mb no problem.
Im also getting more issues of not being able to connect to my routers setup page, turn it off and back on and it is ok, now im guessing the router is maybe haveing sync problems and that is causeing the problems getting to the setup, and each time i reboot it is going for a lower speed.
As i understand it all this is done at the exchange automatically untill a speed is found it syncs at ok, then it stays there.
How long will this go on for? and can it go back up?
for instance if part of the problem was any of the wireing in my house and i replaced it the weekend and rebooted the router would it try to sync at a higher speed if the cables are better? or am i now stuck on a downward slope?
Thanks
keith
