Smacked the tarmac, car leaks oil, clean oil stain ?

I personally let any of my close friends drive my car, it isn't too powerful but is by no means slow and they drive it within their abilities (some a bit more "enthusiastically" than others) but it doesn't phase me.

So many people on this forum say that they drove their mates car, or let their mates drive theres, yet i don't know how this is really possible unless your mate has DOC cover, which would mean that they would, in all likelyhood, have to be over 25, apart from a few companies that allow it under 25. And i'm willing to bet, most people on this forum who let their mates drive their cars are under 25...

Even then, i wouldn't let my mates drive my car "enthusiastically" when they have no experience of how it handles, grips, stops etc, AND if anything DID happen, my car would only be covered 3rd party. Can't say it's worth it just to give my mates a drive?

Am I alone in this or do a lot of you guys take InvaderGIRs viewpoint?

I won't let anyone drive my car, but mostly because non of my friends have DOC cover as they are all about 23-24 and their insurance company doesn't offer it to them.

TBH, only one of my mates drives it really "enthusiastically" and he owns an ACS E36 with an LSD so I know he knows what he's doing.

I have just realised that he has his insured on a classic policy and therefore is most likely not insured to drive mine... but also means I wasn't insured to drive his either  oops!

To be fair snowdog is in Holland and I believe insurance works slightly different there (at least it does in Belgium I believe). Aren't you insured as a person rather than on a specific car??

My last post wasn't meant to include Snowdog as i know he's from Holland (and doesn't let us forget it!) and i wasn't familiar with their insurance system. However, it was referring to the many people in Motors who say they have driven their mates car/let their mates drive theirs and i'm willing to bet a fair percentage of them have done so uninsured, as NVP has which he very honestly admitted to above.

You sound like the stereotypical naive/idiotic teenager who is going to end up getting in deep water one of these days.

Seriously, everything you do/say sounds like something a 14 year old would do/say.

+1.. thats the reason insurance costs go up for young drivers.. because of idiots like you snowdog.. you'll learn your lesson one day.. i hope its soon before you kill someone.

snowdog has always been an accident waiting to happen from the very first day he began posting here, aged 15, about how he needed a BMW 7 Series as his first car so he could do 150mph on trips to Poland.

Why would you allow a mate to drive your car over 100mph?

Because it's 2.30 am and not a car in sight ? He allowed me to go fast in his car previously too ( A mk4 Golf V5)...

You expect us to believe you were not driving?

Yes, I'm not saying I haven't done high speeds on my own, but friday I wasn't driving.

My arse, if I was to believe you I'd have crashed in the first 18 months of driving...

And re. the insurance, everyone is insured to drive in my car if I give permission, insurance is on the car, not the driver...
thats the reason insurance costs go up for young drivers..
Except it doesn't really go up, both my cars are less than 500€ to unsure... And dropping every year.

Typical OCUK motors response to a question:

1: Scan thread for key illegalities
RESULT: Found "120mph" mentioned

2: Post about it being naughty and something a troll/moron/14 year old would do.

If you were familiar with loldog's posts, you wouldn't have written this. If you feel like a laugh, have a look back over his posts. My personal favourite is when he boasted about his TLGP his 1.8 Volvo Estate "regularly up to 90mph, but goes up to 120mph" - this is whilst racing a 1.4 Fiesta Zetec and i think he expected everyone to be impressed? And he has even said "I don't dispute the fact that I'm quite often stupid when driving" which I just find astonishing that he KNOW's that he drives like a dick, but still doesn't do anything about it. Basically, he think's he's God's gift to driving and speed limits are for other people and not for someone as gifted as him.

120mph was mentioned because if he/his mate hadn't had been going this speed, the sump probably wouldn't have been almost ripped off. And he knew the car was very low to begin with.

Have a day off will you?

120mph is only 192 km/h, and that would have been indicated so realistically probably just over 100..

As for the insurance Qs, it's the car which is insured, rather than the driver.
eg. I have insurance on my car and anyone with a full driving licence can drive it (with my permission, obv) for whatever it's insured, be it TP, TPFT or FC.

You're going about this the wrong way.

Hide the stain by painting the rest of the road with oil, thus making the whole road the same colour.

Ah it's you again, crawling out the woodwork. Snowdog is an accident waiting to happen, you just want an excuse to have another dig at the forum again.

Snowdog knows what responses he gets to his stupid antics, if he just wanted to know how to clear up oil he wouldn't of mentioned his story.
