Unless you're camping and need the space why not just boil potatoes add a little butter and milk, then mash with an electric whisk with normal attachment.

even tastier when it hasn't properly dissolved in the water and you get blobs of starch in it.....ugh! give me uncooked rice and water any day!

Horrible stuff. I have a spare packet if (god forbid) I run out of real spuds.

Get a jacket potato sized spud. Dice it boil it for 20 mins. Drain. Add a teaspoon of butter. Add fresh mixed herbs. Serve with bangers and mushrooms and onion gravy. Lovely Jubly

I could live on mash and onion gravy. Maris piper potatoes, salt, butter and milk. Smoosh together, add gravy. And peas. Preferably in a giant yorkshire pudding. Yum!

The powdered smash is far better, it actually tastes like potato now, instead of some chemical.

Just learn how to make the new stuff properly tbh.

One big big tip, add the amount of powder you want first, THEN gradually add water until it's to a consistency you like, and taste it, if you don't like it, add more water.

They tell you to add to much water first, then the smash, it turns it into boiling hot slop.
