i replied to him, "I think you must be mistaken, Sir, for i'm expecting no packages"
He said, in turn, "But look!, it has here, your name on it!" which it did.
I said to him, "Blimey, you're correct good Sir!"
it entailed that he had hand-delivered this all the way from America.
I took the box home, to be opened Later, but curiosity got the better of me, I had to know its contents.
Shaking with anticipation, i open the box to reveal two smaller boxes contained within!
thinking this must be some perverse joke, i continued opening the boxes you see before you!
anyway, so, as i've been hinting at for some time, i bought this lens in america, and had it delivered to one of my dads colleagues, who flies to Genevé for WHO meetings, which my dad also has to participate in.
in Genevé, they were given to my dad, who brought them home for me.
so there we go, the effective shipping cost of my lens was basically nothing, and the total bundle cost something on the lines of £230, including hood and shipping (from retailer to friend) instead of the UK retail which is £340
so far, the lens is awesome, it focuses lightning fast, and the huge aperture allows me to shoot without flash around the house at ISO800
basically, this is the only lens i will use herafter (untill i can buy a better lens, that is!
