So, Chieftec Have A Weird Idea Of Black

Which is instead a dark grey. Do Halfords list online anywhere the different colours of vinyl dye which they sell? I'm trying to get close to the colour of the Chieftec. The other option is to respray the case black, but . . . no.

Yeah I forgot to mention that in the "Chieftec" thread...

I've got a Chieftec Matrix in "black" but it's definately dark grey, no-one would say it was black from looking at it. My black drives look well odd.

I had the opposite problem with my case it was much darker than the nec drive i had, so i stealthed it, maybe this would be easier?.

You can actually get drives in this colour, or at least you used to be able to.

It was a fairly standard colour at one time, with some well known PC makers using it as there standard.

Only thing is now it is Black is Black.

Is it just your front panel that is not black, or is it the whole case.

My Scorpio has a dark grey plastic front and black for all the steel parts.

Mine is the same.

Dark Charcoal vinyl dye isn't far off the plastic colour, very similar to unpainted plastic car bumpers.

As long as it's close enough I'll grab a ivory Pioneer and spray the front. Not bothered about a 100% match.
