If i hadn't bought in to Ati with my last graphics card id be there.

Happy to upgrade my monitor to a 120hz, get the nvidia kit, but the card on top from what i allready have would have been another couple of hundred quid on top.

Im one of the oldschool adopters of the stereo 3D, i had the H3d's back circa 98/9.. it works so well when playing through games like halflife, and makes 3rd person hacks like sacrifice come alive. Ill go as far to say playing through the original HL in 3d is one of the best gaming experiences iv'e ever had, those air vents, tin box rooms with the air fans... the whole thing as amazing.

Id be back in the fish bowl if it wasn't 500 quid to buy in to it, thats the stinger.

Suggestion, if you're looking at oldschool, go through stuff on the n64 emu, starfox 64's a peach in 3d:)

Would like to try it one day, not the best time for me at the mo however. Besides before I even think of doing that I will concentrate more on upgrading other parts of my rig. Things like surround / eyefinity would come next, 3d last of all I expect.

Free market research for OCUK? Personally its too expensive and only on nvidia hardware. I am brand loyal to AMD/ATI so when it comes to this hardware i will reassess but wont buy 1st generation after being burnt before.

I don't want any "3D is a gimmick or too expensive" class posts either, just general discussion about 3D gaming cos the 3D hating is getting abit old now.

So you only really want positive posts about 3D gaming then? :)
Trying to justify your recent purchases to yourself? :D

But seriously, I agree with the majority here that I don't fit into the options listed. I don't have a 3D setup, but it's not because of the cost and I can't say I don't like it, it's just that it doesn't interest me. I've read a few things about it and nothing sells me on it. I don't like the idea of having to wear special glasses while using it either. Since I got motion sickness when trying to play Half-Life 2 I could quite imagine that I'd suffer side effects from using it too.

So i'd need an option along the lines of "No, not interested in it, for the time being at least". But would select the "No, never tried it, don't give a monkeys" if it was there instead.

Not expense as I'm happy to throw <£1000 for 2 gfx cards I don't really need I guess I'm just not fussed by it. When I game I game to a high level, I'm normally not a low skill/medium skill player but at the top of the pile so to speak and I think 3D gaming would be detrimental to how I perform.
-edit-
I only really play multi player.

I bought it, used it, then slowly forgot to put the glasses on when I played until I barely ever did, so sold it and the Samsung monitor and bought a 2311H - which is much nicer for everyday usage. I think Eyefinity is less gimicky right now - it's great for FPS and racing games (my two favourite game genres), as well as flight games and so on...

I found that with 3D FPS games looked good, but racers didn't benefit so much (played GTR Evolution in 3D and could barely tell the difference)...

So I guess I don't fit any of the categories...

I don't think I could be bothered at my pc, maybe on my console if it didn't concern wearing those horrible stereoscopic glasses.

Can't wait for the 3DS, if they could make autostereoscopy on a large scale at a relatively affordable price I'd be all for it.
