So did anyone buy the Dell 24in ST2410?

Tempted to get this, but may just opt for the BenQ G2420HDB cause the wait time seems a lot on Dell. Having bought a laptop off Dell recently, whilst great the delivery times are a bit poo :(

How do i turn that off and if so does it keep the really bright brightness cos i like that.

Edit turned it off, not sure its using the ultra brightness i liked tho.

So how long does an order confirmation and a delivery eta usually take from this company? ...I ordered on the 23rd, expected to have my confirmation next business day, but still nothing, just the acknowledgement you get straight away.
 
Does anyone now what wold be better ie be connecting using speakers connected to the audio out from the monitor or would the speaker bar from dell be better to get sound?

From some of the reviews on the Dell site it seems like the speaker bar isn't that great, so if you have half decent speakers I'd plug them into audio out on the monitor. Or an even better idea is to plug the speakers directly into whatever is producing the sound.
 
I ordered this screen on monday, and got an estimated delivery date of 26/02/2010. Now I am aware that it will most likely arrive prior to that date, however I am still considering cancelling the order in favour of another screen.

I've been thinking about the following:


27" Iiyama PLE2710HDSD
27 inch for under £250 sounds really tempting, is it any good though?

The cheapest option


Samsung p2450h
How doe it stack up against the Dell ST2410?


Will mostly use it for gaming(PC) and watching DvDs. Any input is appreciated.

I've just ordered one of these beauties and am as impatient as anyone here to get hold of it! :D
But I do have one quick question - I've only ever had monitors with a VGA connections before, but given that this monitor has DVI and HDMI which gives the best picture? My graphics card (a Sapphire 5770) has both, so should I get a DVI connector or an HDMI connector?

Any advice gratefully received! :)

HDMI and DVI are the same thing. Only difference is HDMI has sound. Get whichever is cheaper.
 
well my order seems to have vanished off the dell site, estimated delivery was 26/2/10, the funds have gone from my credit card yet my order on dells site has now vanished!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

time to ring the buggers grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
 
I have a tip for users of this monitor. If there was one thing I was not 100 procent happy it was that I would like the colors to be just a little bit more vibrant.

However I have found that you can change saturation for this monitor which is really great. Goto menu. Choose Mode selection Video. The raise the saturation if you want more vibrant colors. Now the colors really bop out of the screen here! :D

I wanna know which settings you use. I have:

Brightness 66
Contrast 99
Saturation 70

Mine said the same thing this morning!

Just had a quick check now and my status has gone from Order Processing (as the estimated del date was 26th of Feb) to In Production... according to the Dell site this means its in the process of being packed to be shipped!

Anyone else's order status saying the same? I hope so, as I don't fancy waiting until 26th :P
