So How many times have you accepted defeat in games?

I don't accept defeat. If I get stuck, i'll put the game away for a day/week/month then go back to the challenge. Though I have stopped some games due to boredom/losing interest. Far cry 2 springs to mind.

I couldn't kill the baddie in Heavenly Sword on PS3. I don't have the disc any more so no chance of trying again now. And yeah, Trials HD. I could never do the last few levels.

Well on a side note i ended up lowering diff on last 3 missions for TWFC to med difficulty im on final boss last stage and keep dying AI is extremly sucky in the game.

So if any one has it on PS3 and wouldnt mind some co-op add me Mazzab.

Never but I may do soon as I cant beat this stupid last boss on Lost Planet 1. Even after his energy hits zero and I slice him, he still wont die and I do instead:(

to be fair, lost planet 1's difficulty curve is the strangest looking "curve" I've ever seen! (as is the story! lol) it just meanders around until the end then gets that steep it falls back onto itself!

It took me quite a few attempts to defeat that last boss on normal! after that I decided I'm not even going to attempt the harder levels

Only game I've really nailed is Arkham Asylum - got my 1000 points on there!

I suck at all shooters on consoles, though, so no veteran CODs for me, thank you very much.

I dont tend to start on hardest unless Ive read the game isnt that challenging. Fear 2 springs to mind. I've managed to veteran COD4,WAW,MW2 and BLOPS, WaW being most frustrating. Batman AA was fine to 1k with a bit of persistence.

Probably my best 1k was Assassin's Creed 2, really really enjoyed that game. Got 760 on AC1 but didn't bother completing it totally as it wasn't that fun to play. 2 on the other hand was great and I got Brotherhood for Christmas so can't wait to get my teeth into that!

Gave up on COD MW1 Veteran, the level where you have to escort the injured sniper to the Fairground. I couldn't even get past the first bit where you have the burnt out cars and bus in the street. I tried so many different ways but gave up eventually. The AI managing to throw grenades which pretty much landed in my pocket every time was just ridiculous. So much rage :p

Gears of War 2 is pretty infuriating too, although still playing that on Insane Co-op with a mate.

Guitar hero 3 on expert, I got as far as cult of personality anything from there onwards just seems next to impossible to me.

Battle Toads on the NES beat me, if you played the game you will know the level.. Damn hover car.

Contra beat me too.

As did Majora's Mask on the N64. It became too hard!

There are plenty of others too, recent games have become too easy :)

For me it was on Assassin's Creed 2 on the xbox 360. I had actually completed the game but wanted to get most of the achievements so went back and ended up giving up at the point of finding the tomb in Venice, for the life of me I just couldn't do it because the ledges etc were all on timers. Sadly in the heat and frustration of it all I threw the controller + laptop on the floor :(

Oh Christ yeah, totally forgot about GH3 on Expert. After trying Raining Blood about 4,000,000,000,000 times I just gave up. I had just that and I think Cliffs of Dover to do and then it would have been onto the boss battle. Probably the most infuriating game I've played, ever :mad:

Also one thing I remember having HUGE trouble doing was on Flatout: Ultimate Carnage (anyone remember that??), it was the very last challenge where you had to use the Flatmobile (Batmobile in disguise) and get a certain time on the time trial. After hours and hours I finally got Gold, that was VERY satisfying :D

No it's because you're crap at the game :p

I completed it on Veteran just fine, apart from that goddamn level where you have to stab the barrels. Stupid barrels, I don't wanna stab a barrel, you stab a barrel. :(

Ooooo, that level is just MEAN!

You have guns, shoot the bloody barrel! Why stab it???

Took me a fair amount of attempts on Hardened.

Black ops on veteran.... was going through thinking wow this is so much easier than WAW (heart of the Reich) on vet, then there's one mission where you're going through the bunkers and need to run down a slope, and seem to have an incredibly powerful magnet in your head that attracts every bullet that's going near
