Recently i bought a D300 and im really pleased with it & was looking for a 2nd body for days when i wanted to go light, so naturally i was going to get the D60, when i came across a cracking deal on a Olympus E-510 with both the 14-42mm & 40-150mm thought hmmm & bought it over the D60.

Being a bit of a sceptic on 4/3 cameras i decided what the hell if i don't like it i'll take it back & buy the Nikon D60.

Well anyroads after a play about with it in the garden im really suprised how good the Olympus is, the 14-42mm kit lens is really sharp very suprised by this, build quality is top notch and no rotating front element plus in body IS works a treat to managed to take a good shot 1/15 of a sec.

here a quick pic with the E-510 & 14-42mm kit lens.

Not the best pic in the world it just to show how much potential the kit lens has.

pic doesn't seem to be showing , I guess that imageshack isn't working properly.

have fun with your new Oly.
Of course the vf & high ISO won't compare to the D300 but if you want small & light the D300 doesn't do that too well ;)

Nice, Olympus make great dslrs. I've got an old E-500 that is awesome but I really want an E-3! I've got the 14-54 and 50-200 lens and they are fantastic.

Well i just got hold of a 2nd hand Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DG Macro for 190 notes for the 510 as i likes having fairly fast zoom on me camera's.

This lens is sharp :) a lot sharper than the kit lens this was shot in RAW with no editing
just changed to jpeg

not had any experience with olympus cameras let alone DSLR's and from what i see i think you are going to have a lot of fun with it.

Well i never before till i got this was worried about it clipping with it being 4/3 ie smaller sensor and less DR than other DSLR's but upto now ive not run into that problem.

One thing that does suprise me is the colour rendition from this camera is superb, it better even that my D300 straight out of the camera in my book.
