..and like the eternal perfectionist the want I want changes every few hours.

I'm moving from a 21" CRT to an LCD and I was dead set at getting the 24" OcUK Value monitor as I was swayed by the whole PVA panel thing.

Then I though well I'm only really gonna be using it for gaming (not much of a movie buff) and TN panels seem to be better geared for FPS games and such....

Now I'm thinking why not get the best of both and go S-IPS. I thought they were out of my price range but this seems to good to be true.

Acer AL2616Wsd, 26"WS S-IPS, 5ms G2G, VGA DVI input for £493
or...

this one....

I can get it for £430 and wanna know what you guys think. It seems a "bit too good to be true" as I was under the impression that S-IPS screens were well into the seven hundred plus zone.

Again, this is going to be a gaming monitor, but I wouldn't mind it being good at other stuff too, so what do you think?

Might be worth waiting for the Dell 2408wfp to turn up :). The Acer's A-PVA btw.

Thanks for the heads up.

According to http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/ the Acer is

Acer AL2616Wsd 5ms G2G 26"WS LG.Philips S-IPS (LM260WU1)

Searched for it, is the site wrong?

EDIT: Just read about the Dell you mentioned, seems a PVA panel and more suited to Movie enthusiast. I'm a gamer
