I'm on Voda right now and my contract is over so I am opting for an iPhone on Friday.

However before I call up and cancel my contract (and get a pac code to keep my number) I want to make sure I pass the credit check.

Is there anyway I can do this?

edit: I'm pretty sure this was more of a general mobile question than an Apple hardware Q...

Not really...

The most important thing is to ring up equifax (they're the agency that o2 use) and make sure that you have your address registered with them...

tbh - unless your rating is terrible, I can't see a mobile phone contract being a problem...

It does depend on a load of factors though!

EDIT// If you're already on a contract, I'd say that in all likelihood you won't have a problem...

Wow, I got a text from O2 this morning 7:30am saying that the iPhone is available for current customers to upgrade to. Checked the site at 10:30am and it was already sold out!

You got the message a day late, everyone bought them yesterday.

I already have a PAC code from my current network.

A PAC code does not commit you to changing networks. It gives you an option to do so.

PAC codes die after 30 days.

My suggestion: Call your network. Ask for a PAC code. Tell them it's because you're unhappy with the service and are shopping around.

If you decide not to go for the iPhone 3G for whatever reason, your old network might make you a nice offer on discounted line rental.

Good luck!

I'm not terribly happy with Voda anyway.

I was only moved to Voda (was o2 originally, through SinglePoint) because the company I was with got bought out by them.
