So I was browsing Autotrader when I was bored...

As people have already pointed out, the 3000GT and NSX are nothing alike.
Fair enough. I only picked that up from the Wikipedia article (I should've known!) as I know very little about Japanese cars.

Clearly the consensus is I should just go and buy it. I think it's a Japanese import rather than an actual 3000GT because it has GTO on the back? Or do they all have that regardless?

Op if you are interested then you will need specialist insurance, high street firms usually will not touch them, let alone an import
Try Sky, Adrian Flux or A-plan:)

Out of interest, when i tried to insure an old Jag XJR (1998) I found the best way was classic car insurance. Could this be viable on a car like this? or as its an import is this out of the question?

It's definitely an import gto, might even be a non.turbo as I don't see any turbo badging

A fellow GTO/3000gt owner :D Are you on either of the forums?

Car in the OP is a GTO so smaller turbo's but also one less cat. They dyno at 10-20bhp less than the UK counterpart (easily reclaimed with a air filter / exhaust) but will come with a whole lot less rust!

I am on both, though no longer browse the old one. Missed all the fireworks but not really interested in it, I am more of a lurker ;) An invaluable resource though, solved any and all niggling issues I have had :D

Classic insurance and limited mileage all the way!

I'd go with it being a NA as well, no stickers and the price all point to it.

Same! I'd be dammed if im going to pay to access a forum. Both are great resources though and met some good people through them!
I was a bit late to the party regarding the goings on, shame as it takes away from the marque but better than have con merchants on the loose!
