So, my phone got stolen...

indeed. i received my replacement simcard today, so i called T-mobile to activate it, and while i was on the phone i asked about what would happen to an Android phone that's IMEI-blacklisted.

apparently the phone tries to authenticate IMEI with the networks when you turn it on even if there isn't a SIM inserted, and if the phone fails the auth-check it won't even allow you to access the homescreen (apparently)

Talking crap as far as I'm aware.
Won't allow you to make calls or access data, but never seen one that completely locks you out of the homescreen :rolleyes:
