Because you wont get near the pricing I have for my preorders - did it way before general RRP of games went up so seems silly not to keep them live...
The real question is why not? You dont get charged til dispatch and most honour prices set at order. Only the really really big games get sold as loss leaders at release date, so you are far likely to get it cheaper than popping into a shop (for me thats additional convenience) and sometimes early to boot too. If you do find out it going to be cheaper at launch its not that difficult to cancel or at worse return under DSA if required, I tend to do price checks nearer release date and move things (just did it with UC3 a couple of weeks ago)...
Good example of why I preorder is GAME with BAC who increased their pre-order prices for their exclusive Robin edition a week (or so) before release just to milk launch day prices. Just look at most game threads where people nowadays get annoyed if their preorder doesnt ship early
Obviously this is an aside for people that dont want games at launch, but if thats your consideration the questions moot anyway...
EDIT: Think my first line answered your question - dont know why I wrote the rest as its not really on topic
Pre-ordered Diablo3 about a year ago I think. My preorder is 24.99. It is almost guaranteed that the price will be higher on release. Starcraft2 at £35 anyone?
