Currently getting bathroom done. So as you can imagine there's a big stack of rubbish in garden.

This morning I hear my dad screaming my head off. Apparently there's some youth in our front garden breaking all the rubbish up with a sledgehammer without our permission ofc.

Cue dad running out and asking him what the fudge he's up to. Kid replies he's after our rubbish and a van's coming to pick it up.

Cue van pulling up and a big foreign bloke jumps out to give him a hand. Cue my dad telling them to **** off before he calls the law. Kid then tried to say that he knocked on the door for 5 mins before attempting to 'remove' our rubbish. This is obviously bs because we would have heard the doorbell. Cue other bloke apologising and them leaving empty handed.

Thought it was going to kick off for a while and am wondering if they're going to return now that my dads gone to work.

That's not my point. It may be rubbish but it's my rubbish and they shouldn't have come on private property.

One man's rubbish is another's treasure.

Depends what you class as rubbish. Bits of wood, tiles? Or cast iron bath and fittings?

If it's the former I would let them have it. Saves me taking it to the tip. :)

but now you have to go to the tip.

Thats a bit daft, I would have said nice one thanks! Help yourselves.

thats not the point. they came on my private property and stole my stuff. may as well have come in the house and stole the tv

So you have a big ppile of rubbish in your yard and some dudes want to remove it for nowt.
The rubbish is worth nothing to you as you are having it picked up on Wednesday by the council.
So you stop the dudes from maybe earning a few legal pounds from it and incurr the costs on tax payers by the council having to come out for it.
Would it not have been better to let the dudes earn there legal few quid and ring the council informing them they did not need to come out.

You all moan about ******/chavs etc but stop them earning a Legal living
Why ????????

Not really, the TV is obviously still of use to you. I thought you were going to be using the stuff in the garden. If its of no further use to you and will be removed anyway why did you bother arguing with the guys that wanted to take it?

Legal is pushing the boundaries of the term quite a bit, they were still stealing. It was just that they were stealing stuff thats of no further use. A fine line but still not legal.

I'd personally have let them get on with it though.

How is going on to someones private property and removing stuff from it legal?

Snob? Ok they should have asked, but now they're there, if you decide to let them take it what's the problem.

Were they stealing something valuable to you? "Nicking" an old pile of dirty broken tiles is slightly different to nicking everything in the living room.

I wish ****** would take the cleared out rubbish we had on our back yard matresses, etc.

We are talking about clearing away crap here Free of charge.
From a Front garden aren't we, Not behind a house or behind closed gates ?
Crap that has Odviously been put out front for clearance.
This is how i see it and my comments are based on the above.

Odviously i would feel different if it was behind closed gates or behind a property with Odvious boundarys.

I've had people knock on my door before and ask if they could take away an engine I had sitting around on the drive. As it happened it saved me a trip to the tip so I let them take it and loads of junk I had stashed in the garage. I'm sure they sold it for a profit, but it saved me the haslle so I was happy for them to have it.

On the other hand someone nicked a sofa we had on the front lawn on it's way to the tip and I was pretty annoyed about that for the same reasons as you. I may not want it but it's my rubbish on my property. If you want it you can ask.

Also had "scrap cars taken away for free" cards left on my Manta before:mad:. **** off.
