Hi folks

So, like a lot of you people on here, I've spent the last week or so tinkering with my new sandy bridge. I've been impressed by some of the crazy max overclocks (Hello 1Day) and even got upto 5.3ghz myself

Couldnt do much with it though after getting into windows, so I set upon the task of finding my maximum stable overclock:

Thats about 17 hours stable running prime, so 99% sure its good :D

Anyone else care to share their findings?

If so, could you try and show a similar screenshot so we can all compare temps and vaults at load please, showing at least a 10 hour prime session. The main thing I notice about mine is the fairly high voltage needed at load.

The temps are pretty good though thanks mainly to the 480 SR rad I have set up with a new EK supreme block. Cant help but thinking though that if I got a better chip, I could have a 5.2ghz or more stable overclock, due to the voltage/temp I'm getting now

Cheers

Ok, so maybe we dont all have 10+ hour screenshots of prime lying around :D

So, until they start appearing, just write down what you are running at, with temps, and how long its been stable for

Cheers

I've got my 2500K running at 4.8GHz Prime stable for 12hours.
Max temp was 65C on core 1 and idle temps are about 27C on all four cores. VCore is set to 1.325 in BIOS and is about 1.38 under load (can't remember exactly) and 1.344 idle in CPU-Z.
I don't have a screen shot as of yet but I'll get one for you soon.
Looks like you're playing with fire with that VCore mind!

Yeah, its a little high. Like I said, its gotten me very tempted to take a punt and grab another one in the hope of getting a better chip, and seeing what I can do with my cooling

But then I think about the hassle it'll be and it soon passes :)

As for IBT, I did a 50 pass run at one point, and then started prime after that and it failed in under 15mins. So stuck with prime

Ive finally stuck at 4.5ghz with voltage on auto, offset + 0.020 and LLC set to extreme. Did a 75 run IBT (after 22hrs prime blend) today as Ive been playing around with my RAM.
I have 2 sets, 2 x 4gb Corsair Vengance and 2 x 2Gb G Skill 2133Mhz CL9. The Corsair works great at its XMP settings but the G Skill wont Prime at its XMP settings of 9-10-9-27 @ 1.5v. I even came across a thread where someone else alos had this problem and he got it working at 2133Mhz by changing the timings to 9-11-9-28 @ 1.55v. Still no joy. Only conclusion I can come to is the RAM is not capable of those speeds/settings as advertised. They may be tested for Sandybridge and yes they work. But stressing them seems to suggest otherwise.
Im going to contact G Skill on Monday and see what they recomend.
