Only had my 2500K four months, so I'm not likely to jump for something that is marginally quicker at best and runs far hotter :p

I'll be sticking with what I have for at least two years, probably three most likely.

Hey Gibbo, you think the Antec khuler 620 that came free with the gigabyte mobo will be enough to handle 4.5 on the i5?

Otherwise i'll have to pull my megahalems apart again... and thats a pain in the ass tbh..

What annoys me the most though is that I could have gone SB ages ago rather than waiting for Ivy, I wanted something cooler and that was the main selling point for me. Real annoying tbh with you.

But yeah, would the 620 be capable of keeping ivy below 80c at 4.5?

I got the same deal, waiting to see how the k3770 is, i'd be very happy with 4.5 but I'm not hopeful, might throw in a k2600, will just have to see price/reviews on Monday.

I skipped SB, so i'll be going IB, probably with a total rebuild as well including shiney new graphics card! :p

On a side note, would it be cynical of me to mention how this comes out the day after the 10% OcUK vouchers expire? :p ;)

Well my 2500K does 4.9GHz on Air on my old MSI Z68A-GD65, will have to wait till Monday to see what it does on my Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H.

Will still have a play around with a 3570K as long as the prices are not silly, from what I have seen so far the 3770K doesn't seem to clock any better than a 3570K but I guess we will see a week on Tuesday onwards...

Yep, wanna get an ib setup, my i7 920 has been great, but very hot running. Cant complain though, 3 years at 4ghz, (well 6 months at 4.2ghz), rock solid for 12 hours a day. It owes me nothing.

I doubt most software even uses all of Sandybridges instruction set yet.
I'm sure the CPU is fantastic but the software and developers are lightyears behind. Whats the point in having SSE7/vector instructions? if PC developers are still on SSE3 and console developers haven't even heard of SSE?

Nope not me, for one I can't afford it & regardless of that my current setup is still going strong plus I could no doubt clock my CPU further if I could be bothered.

I'm going to be sticking with my 2500k @4.5ghz. Though building a new rig for my Dad, still undecided whether to go with a SB-E 3820 or get the IB 3770k

Depending on the price i probably will,Il get a new Mobo & CPU ..going to keep the rest of my existing setup,Then later on pick up a better PSU (800w+) and get another used 6950 2gb and run Crossfire.
