My girlfriend (so not a misses quite yet) doesn't presently earn more than me - she's an undergraduate with zero income whereas I'm a postgraduate with a stipend.
When she graduates this summer she'll most probably be starting a grad scheme where she'll be earning more than me (probably not considerably, I'm on £18k untaxed, she will be on up to £28k, taxed).
But the gap will only get bigger as she'll have a steep curve for her income whereas for three years I'll still be on the same. Then after I graduate I'll start earning more, but it'll definitely be less than her (very unlikely that I'll start on £30k+, especially if I remain in academia).
For me it'll just feel a bit strange that she'll be earning more than me, are there any men out there where this is the state of play in your relationship?
