Soap making.

Made a few batches of soap a while back as a hobby, had a scientist go over the recipe i came up with to make sure it was safe, then got bored, the soap i made was brilliant though. I would like to start doing it again but costs a bit of money to buy the ingredients in bulk.

Count me out! I'd be scared I'd make some sort of acid soap that melts peoples hands off :p

You mean like a chemical burn?

I was the owner of a Soap and Bath Bomb Factory.
I started selling the stuff on a market stall and eventually started making my own. This grew over several years starting from my garage to a 3000sq ft factory.
I used melt & pour soap and designed and built a Bath Bomb machine that could press thousands of Bombs per day.
I sold direct to shops but then also to distributors and abroad, I was then approached by the largest gift wholesaler in Europe to buy me out including equipment and more importantly knowledge. So I know a fair bit of melt & pour soap making.

I never went down the lines of hot & cold process soap.

This is the sort of stuff I designed and made:

I can't work out if this is a joke or not. Since it is the pH being high not low that can make soap give chemical burns. For cheap but good soap replace the solid at room temp oils / waxes with lard.

I was under the impression that 'melt and pour' was easy to make, but relatively poor quality soap.
