Sofa mouse mat?

we have a living room PC that my son, and increasingly his younger sister, use for games, educational 'games' and occasional MS office work. the mouse works on the sofa arm, but it's not always 100% accurate - is there a great, fairly inexpensive, sofa solution to mousing?

Years ago when i used to game on the sofa with my laptop i used to also use the armrest as a pad and put an old t-shirt over the leather and it tracked quite well.

I use mine on my sofa no problems, but probably has a better laser, just look for a mouse mat that will fit on the sofa arm, any should be fine
