Software for fault finding on motherboards?

Hi, the blue screens were random, some were straight upon boot, other times after a few hours, and sometimes, though rarer while in safe mode. Edit, the majority were upon boot, where windows would fail to load, it would blue screen as the little colored window came up, or at the log in screen.

I think it is even more frustrating now that I have not experienced one for some time, without finding the cause?

I cannot remember any blue screens before boot, or while in bios.

There are many causes to error code 50, besides just memory - as in ram.
Check this link out for further info. You may need to do a lot more detective work yet.
