Software to copy drive to SSD

I've always had the issue where copying a smaller drive to a larger SSD limits the size of the new SSD. I even used the software key included with my crucial SSD for Acronis, and all it did was limit my 960GB SSD to the size of my old one (250GB), with no way to expand into the unallocated space. Would be very interested to hear if there is a way to do this properly!

windows lets you expand the cloned volume or create a new one in the free space as do many cloning utilities. Disk management console in win 10

No, W10 doesn't let you expand it. It also doesn't allow a new volume to be created. Try it, it doesn't work when you use Acronis to copy SSD to a new one.
