So I've been googling and keep getting mixed replies, I'm unsure how to proceed.
My HTC One M7 is rooted, only rooted it myself the other night, and now a Software Update has appeared in the status bar.
what to do?
I've heard various reports that accepting it will
1. loose root and may brick the phone.
or
2.attempt to install the update and it will fail, than never ask me again to update.
I'm happy with option 2, but does anyone know for sure?
Cheers guys

Depends on how you're rooted. If you flashed a custom recovery and then flashed the superuser app through that, then 2 will happen. If you modified the firmware using root then 1 will happen.

If you only rooted just to use certain root apps, then flash back the stock recovery and the update will work. You may lose root but as long as your bootloader is still unlocked you can reflash the custom recovery to root again.

I'm an idiot.
I took the gamble and clicked on install, only to find it was an update to Venom One. The custom ROM I installed.
Feel a fool:) better safe than sorry I suppose
