Solarium's?

So I recently joined Virgin Active and amongst the usual saunas, steamrooms etc there is also a solarium. Which basically seems to be a big heat room to make you sweat. 65 degrees C and 40% humidity I believe.

I've looked online but can't really find any information on solarium's. So what I wanted to know is, what are the benefits of using a solarium???

Can anyone help explain the point of these rooms? Or should I just stick to my Saunas?

They are there for one reason and one reason alone and that is for extremely vane people to go in and get a tan with no concern for their health.

They are a great way of giving your self cancer so stay clear from them.

I'm pretty sure it's not one of 'those' solarium's, there's a few funky lights in there but not UV tanning ones. There's separate tanning booths in the changing rooms.

It's more just a heat room to make you sweat.

Does anyone else know the type of room i'm on about the usefulness of it?

Ok i've figured it out,

it's called a sanarium not a solarium. A mix between a sauna and a steam room.

nevermind!
