Sold my 8800...

7600gt is still the choice for budget and smart buyers such good value
paid £57 for mine 570/1400mhz default not bad.
Depends on the games you play i mostly play games that dont push
this card maxed out like pro evo 6 online.
I think it's inevitable a £100 ish dx10 card will come and pound for pound match
if not beat the 8800 gts.

Well i had an 8800GTS 640mb, mainly purchased for crysis which has now been pushed back a few months. Well, i thought about it.. and whats the point having a DX10 card, when theres no games which support it yet? I sold my 8800 for close enough to the price i paid for it! I am now the proud owner of a 6200 =]

Few months down the line and there will be all new graphics cards out. What im trying to say is.. if you have a card atm which fits the bill, then dont upgrade to an 8800.. YET.

whats the point?

That will be all =]

Half of your idea was smart. Getting rid of the bloated 8800 was good - but you should have gone for a 7600GS or something.....so at least you could play current games with fairly good settings :)

went from a 7900gt extreme to a bfg 8800gts 640, great for current games but at least when new titles come out im pretty well covered as far as graphics goes

Am upgrading my pc and i was looking at getting a DX10 or a X1950 XT 256MB but after this i think i will get the X1950 XT 256MB

Ah, 6200. That sends me back. I used to have one. It's one of the best low end cards i've ever seen. It's been replaced by the 7100 now. I still have my 6200TC right here and my dad has an AGP version in his computer.

Lucky you....What clocks can you get it to (xt-x speeds ??)
Yeah, at the moment i'm at 650/800(1600DDR), hitting around 7K in 3Dmark '06. Absolutely no need for a 8800 at the moment.

Maybe once the R600 comes in and the 8800 falls in price. :)
