Somali woman stoned for adultery

Frankly awful form of justice, I say justice it isn't justice at all, I wouldn't even know what to call this.

Earlier this month, a man was stoned to death for adultery in the port town of Merka, south of Mogadishu.

His pregnant girlfriend was spared, until she gives birth.

Truly awful.

She was divorced!

But just because she had /been/ married, anything done outside of that marriage is now considered adultery, even though their marriage has ended.

I'd imagine as she was the person he slept with outside of his marriage she is also charged with adultery. :/

Personally I don't agree with the death penalty in any circumstances.

Are there any people that would call this barbaric but also want the death penalty returned for certain crimes in the UK?

No she was stoned to death for adultery and he got lashes for sex before marriage, I think. But his pregnant girlfriend has to wait until she gives birth. Is that for sex before marriage?

Probably then, the article doesn't really make much sense about them (it reads to me as aseperate case) almost as if it's chucked in for added effect.

Still disgraceful TBH.

I think its a seperate case altogether. They're highlighting the fact that some poor girl's awaiting the same fate.

Yes,

In my opinion, the death penalty should be an option in extreme cases, not as a deterrent, but as a 'permaban'

Obviously murder, as there is no such thing as sharon's law in the UK.
