some advise on ebay please.

Why oh why is there always threads for information AFTER the item has been sold/bought?

Why can't anyone search these forums before, or ask on how to secure a sale BEFORE they list/send the item...

Where exactly does it say that windows 7 is a trial? I just see
Currently has Windows 7 installed.
If I had paid for that and saw that the windows 7 wasn't genuine I'd be well miffed, so much that I'd want my money back right away and would post it back at your expense and I'd report you to ebay (and possibly the Police) for supplying pirated software.

He is upset that I have put an unregistered o/s on the machine. I stated in the auction is for 'trail' usage, as I did not have a external cd drive to install the original o/s. Although i did not put this in my description it was asked in the Q and A section at the bottom, I did clearly state this.

Q&A section IS NOT THE DESCRIPTION. If the item had a nongenuine version of Windows, that should have been in the description.

As there's no mention in the description that the copy of Windows 7 is not genuine, I think it is reasonable that the buyer is expecting a refund. It doesn't matter too much that you didn't mention that the rubber feet had come off, although I'd be a little disappointed as it could scratch surfaces.

I don't know why people install illegitimate copies of Windows as 'trials' on computers sold on eBay. Just install Ubuntu to avoid any issues

Seeing as it clearly states it has Windows 7 in the description, no mention of trial or unregistered. I would except the return give him a full refund + P&P and take it as a lesson learnt.

Regardless of whether you put in the Q&A about W7 being trial is really besides the point, it should have been in the description. I for one do not read the Q&A on ebay sales unless I need a question answered, the things I check on all Ebay purchases are the description and the sellers feedback. I'm sure this is true of the majority of buyers.

The buyer is well within his rights and if you don't honour it then Ebay/PayPal will make you.
