I been looking to get this, worth getting?

It's For a my 5.1 B&W surround sound for my pc set, via blu ray and gaming.
I have a Asus P6T v2 Intel X58 motherboard. would i need to get a better sound card that supports optical sound ?
would this be what i would have to use when playing games in 5.1, or does the game have to support 5.1 DTS etc.
Could someone please give us some advise.
