Hi
I have just made my self a website for my driving school (redesigned really, but was a bit rubbish before)
http://www.abbeyschool-of-motoring.co.uk/driving/
could do with some feedback.
cheers
I don't want to be to harsh but I think it could do with some work. These are just some suggestions to point you in the right direction:
- Did you hand code it? If so you shouldn't really use tables. Look up CSS, w3c .org is a great resource
- Google analytics code normally goes at the bottom of the site so it doesn't slow it down.
- Ditch the counter or get a behind the scenes one, they're very 90's
-Ok, as for the design, tbh it looks a little old. Changing the font to Lucida Sans, Helvetica or some such would probably help
- Ditch the underlining on on the top and left menu, (infact you could probably get rid of the top menu altogether), or make it so it underlines when hovered over.
- If you keep the top menu make it so the links don't change colour after you've visited them.
- Get rid of your 'HOMEPAGE' in the left menu and make 'Abbeycroft school of motoring' a link instead.
- Drop your contact details and teh 'E Mail' me link below the left menu.
- Get rid of the red border around the left menu.
- The grey margins either side aren't equal width
- Drop the right hand 'Hot News' box down a bit so there is some space to separate it from the purple above, same with the left menu box.
- Get rid of the bottom thin grey border on the middle box.
That should keep you going for a while.
