Hi wonder if someone out there can helpme.

I am presently staying at some friends so am on there laptop trying to this problem out.
JVC MG50EK

The owner has managed to loose / misplace the box that came with the camcorder
so we are unable to install the software to save video fies etc on pc/laptop.

I have connected the USB cable up and I can see it as a hard drive and can view the photos. But cannot do anything with the video's which he wants to save on pc before they go to New York next week.

I need the software for this camcorder if anyone can help me.

Or knows what software it is adn where i can download it from.

As we have no idea, I have searched the JVC database and cannot see what i need from there all i can get is the instruction manual's

many thanks in advance.

Magic!

understood, BUT

when i connect it to his laptop with the usb cable, only cable he thinks (?) came with it (bear in mind he's misplaced the box)

I can then go to my computer and see a new HD there.

I can then see and view the images taken with the camcorder as they are saved as a .JPEG but the movies it memory serves me are saved as a MOD / MUI files ?

Does Windows Movie Maker open those file types then, failing all this I shall of course phone JVC in the morning.

Cancell that just looked :-

You can import files with the following file name extensions into Windows Movie Maker to use in your project:

Picture files: .bmp, .dib, .emf, .gif, .jfif, .jpe, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .tif, .tiff, and .wmf
Video files: .asf, .avi, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv
