A site that i am sure many of you are familiar with http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/ have an excellent set of photographs showing some of the effects of nuclear testing on some people in Kazakhstan.

The defect harmed Zhannoor's brain development as if she were in a permanent vegetative state. She cannot think, speak or perform basic functions.

I don't want to sound harsh or anything, but is there any point in her living?

I had exactly the same thoughts....that isnt even living is it...its just existing with no purpose.

Very thought provoking but also very sad that these kids/adults have now got to suffer the consequences of what the Russian did when testing nukes.

In all seriousness, it is an awful, awful thing to bear witness to, and cannot now be undone. That lessons do not appear to have been learnt from these things is, to my mind, the worst thing.

A moving set of photos though, I can't help but think some of them, such as the one who can not even think would have been better to have died.
