How can I remove it. It looks like a blue permanant marker I tried bleach, detol surface clensor, WD40, and toothpaste along with a metal scouring pad for cleaning baked on food from pans, it just will not come off. I know who it is that did it it but he is just 15 year old which words I could not describe on here but Police round here are useless. I really want to go after this kid but I know it's me who is going to end up in the nick, his parents don't care either there just as bad, dole scammers and thiefs.

Pressure washer I think. IIRC there are usually graffiti units within local councils, so it might be worth giving your local authority a ring.

Still, contact the police. If they really are as useless as you say, then complain to the council, your MP and the IPCC. Don't just let it lie.

Acetone might take it off - and might damage the PVC.

I'd first take another marker (you want a whiteboard marker) and run that over the top, sometimes that works, you can then wipe it off.

Since when did the council have a remit in police complaints ?

At the OP ...... contact the cops and report the damage instead of whining on an internet forum before you have even contacted them and received a service.

Give them at least the opportunity of an investigation before you slate them.

So tommorow I will buy a white marker and some white spirit, even though I can remove this, what if this kid keeps on doing this? I even thought about installing a TV Camera above my door. This boy has not only drawn on my door but he has vandalised properties around the area, stolen childs bikes from peoples gardens and sold them and from what my Local shop tells me he has also stolen goods from them. The shop even told me that if I ever had to take legal actioan against his Parents they (the shop owners) would stand in court to back me up

The council in terms of the troubled youth - they do have a remit in that area if I'm not mistaken. The IPCC and MP are in regards to the police themselves.

You really do come wading in pretty heavy in regards to these issues Von, and there really isn't the need a lot of the time.

If it's assisted living (or whatever they call council housing these days) then they'll take a vested interest if enough complaints are raised, especially if the police have been informed with each complaint.

We went through this a couple of years ago with the hellish offspring living at the top of our road, all of the parents were sent warnings about their kids with the possible threat of "relocation". Whether it was a hollow threat I don't know, didn't make any difference mind. Ended up moving in the end to escape the little ****s.

Just to be clear. A whiteboard marker - you won't find one in white. Black, blue, red it won't matter. They contain a chemical which evapourates quickly, but acts a solvent to the ink the pens contain. I've personally used a whiteboard marker on a whiteboard that some moron had used permanant marker on. I simply used the whiteboard marker on top and it all wiped off. I was rather panicky though - about to give a presentation to the bosses who had come up from Canary Wharf, and noticed the board was unusable!

TBH I don't care about what damage it does to the door I just don't want to come home to a grafiti board
