Found myself in Bristol on Monday, so had a wander and took some shots. Was very dissapointed with most of what I got, but here's some of the OK ones. Weather was, unfortunately, naff.

i love the feel of the first shot, just not too fond of the angle.

shot of the church is great, as is the IR shot

Personally, my favorites are 1, 4 and 6 - they just work for me.

Although it has to be said the sky on 5 is excellent. It really frames the building nicely as well.

Good shots :)

that IR shot, shouldn't the sky be black?

Overcast day - so the sky was filled with cloud, which is IR reflective :)

As for HDR..
#1 half the point of the shot (for me) was to have the sky blown out, with the vague silhouette of a person coming down. I actually wanted it more blown than it is... So HDR kind of negates that.

#2 I tried HDR, but those two cranes were moving too fast for me - so that's just the "normal" exposure.

#3 I was going for a silhouette..

#4 I wanted harsh shadows..

#5 is HDR :o

#6 I couldn't be arsed to HDR it. To get even one stop over exposed I'd need a 30 second exposure ~ not to mention that shot is actually a panoramic. I just don't think the work involved would be worth it :)

did you shoot in RAW?

ifso, you can still try an HDR by adjusting the exposurte in rawshooter etc, if you shot in JPG, you can adjust the exposure to some extent in CS2 ;) which will give you your required 3 shots for photomatix :)
