It wouldn't be if the Nan consented as well as the family.
I can think of much worse things that our nation does every weekend which are much more disrespectful. For example women who buy leather shoes and wear them once, an animal died because of that.
Somehow if it's fluffy we have to treat it differently to other animals, I bet that if it was a cow or a fish then nobody would care.
Now where can I get hold of an octopus :D.
 
Cat's are people too. They deserve a dignified burial with a little grave stone. Not become some grotesque science experiment!!

I can just imagine TANK going down the bottom of his garden every year and laying flowers on a cat grave.

Do you think they just strip the cow of it's skin and throw the rest away?

It doesn't matter if it was a cat, a dog or his nan.. It's disrespectful to the life that once was FOR THE SAKE OF NOVELTY VALUE!

I wonder if I could put it into my will that the executors of my estate use the proceeds of the sale of my possessions to fund converting my body into a quadrocopter, and then fly me round the cemetery at night fall once a week....

No. But you see some animals are slaughtered because of the leather demand, for example if the leather demand was high then more cattle may be bred then killed. Leather makes up quite a bit of money for the slaughter houses, so it is partly true that cows are killed for the leather.

Cats are part of the family, they get the same respect, nothing effete about showing a little respect for fellow creatures.
 
The only thing I can think of that would account for this insanely gay level of cat worship is toxoplasmosis infection. Some of yous might want to get a blood test.

But that's an actual productive use of said cow, a resource. It's meat nourishes us and its skin is comfortable and protects us, aswell as keep people with roofs over their heads. It's not for novelty value.
