Someone vandalised my car

At the weekend some ****** thought it would be a good idea to take a key to the side of my car and give it a new look. The results is below:

I'm afraid the image quality isn't great but you can see that it's gone right down to the primer underneath.

I've been told to try chipsaway but is this going to be the best way to get it repaired? Are they any good? The rest of the body work is in brilliant condition so I don't want a half decent job. Is a respray of the panel going to be the only way to do it and if so roughtly how much will it cost?

Any help is appreciated

I got my 205 GTI front wing resprayed yesterday for around 70 quid. That price includes the paint, the baking and the electric bill and the labour apparently... :rolleyes:

Good result though.

Edit: That's not a Burberry shirt is it?

lol. It's my girlfriend taking the picture. The shirt is checkered (in different girly colours) and it's Miss Sixty, not Spiderman!

seriously, unlucky man that really grinds my gears when people do stuff like that as there is no gain from it, for god sake steal my stereo so I know at least there was a gain from the whole affair!!!

Chips away will only respray it on a smaller scale anyway (with an airbrush) in my experience it'd be just as cheap to take it to a decent bodyshop and you'd probably end up with a better job (chipsaway spray out in the open).

Its things like this that make me too scared to park my own car anywhere other than home or work.

I really can't understand why anyone would bother doing anything like that.
