6Music have a vote for single of the year here

Albums:
Fratellis - Costello Music
Wolfmother -Wolfmother
Zutons - Tired of Hanging Around

Singles:
Christina Aguilera - Ain't no Other Man :o
Dirty Pretty Things - Bang Bang You're Dead
Fratellis - Henrietta, Creepin up the Backstairs
Lazy B (I think) - Underwear Goes Inside the Pants
Weird Al Yankovic - White and Nerdy
Jack Johnson - Upside Down (:o again)

Single coming with a late gasp winner for me is Bloc Party's new one - The Prayer. absolutely amazing.

And album has to be either Justin Timberlakes Futuresex/Lovesounds, or the surprise and probably most listened to album by me this year in Nelly Furtado's Loose which was really good listening especially when out on my bike.

i loved her last album (folklore) but i think i made it about as far as half way through track2 on the new one before deciding it was a load of crap. :p

haven't really got much new stuff this year. albums for me are

lamb of god - sacrament (i is a metal noob)
beck - the information

Well I advise everyone to get Peter Bjorn and John's album, quality stuff especially the first track.

Joanna Newsom is pretty special but not for everyone I think (both my mate and brother gave me a wtf when I put it on. :()

The Thermals - The Body, The Blood, The Machine is great.

I can't really narrow down a best album or song though as there are so many to choose from, I think most of the people who say music isn't great this year just aren't looking in the right places!

Favourite Track: Returning to the Fold by The Thermals! :D

Edit: Maybe The Island by The Decemberists! :p
