Anyone have one of these.
I am on a tight budget but this is appealing to me. Any reason to avoid it. I wouldnt be able to afford more than £500 for the camera and two lenses. I can get the SOny with a 18-70 and 75-300 lenses for £450.
I am settling on this as it has image stabilisation built into the camera rather than the lens. I have priced others but with the lenses for Canon/Nikon being more expensive with IS or VR in them I wouldnt be able to justify the outlay. Or in other words thr other half would castrate me.

:)

Don't have 1 (have a KM D7D) but have used 1 a couple of times. :)
It's fine - there are no genuinely bad DSLRs on the market - in fact it's got 1 of the best specs of the entry level DSLRs.
& there are some very good deals on atm - I know that you can get body & 18-70mm for £350 but haven't seen the twin kit for £450 (haven't been looking though).

For that sort of money its hard to argue really. There'll probably be plenty of shouts of 'Canon' or 'Nikon' in a minute, but for the money you're getting a lot of camera there, and its definitely better than the entry level offerings from the Big Two. I have no idea about the quality of the kit lenses though.

the 18-70mm can be a bit variable - some are excellent & some aren't great.
As for the 75-300mm it's a typical kit - I would probably take the Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO Macro DG over it but at least he's not paying full retail for it.
The Minolta faithful can't understand why Sony dropped the 100-300mm APO as that was a stonking wee lens for the money.
