sony bravia hdtv

hi, ive come across a sony bravia 32inch 1080i for 230 quid 2nd hand, does this sound about right? also whats the difference between 1080i and 1080p?

1080i is interlaced and 1080p is progressive. this means 1080p is better, but beware that skyHD for example is actually only 1080i.

Sky HD and Freeview HD will probably only be 1080i, but for connecting your PS3, Xbox360 or PC 1080p would be better.

Sony are the best, not sure about the price.

Wouldn't a Panasonic Viera plasma generally be a better option?

no sorry i dunno, think im gonna pass. ive heard 720p is supposed to be as sharp and clear if not more so than 1080i.
