SONY Cybershot Question

Hi , I recently received a SONY DCS-W1 second hand from a mate. I've worked out pretty much all of the functions apart from 2 things.

What do the "M" and "P" modes do on the mode dial ?

It didn't come with a manual and I'm finding it difficult to find out using Google. Any help would be great.

Cheers but it doesn't really give me a lot of information. I know what the letters stand for now but what do these modes ACTUALLY do and what are they for ?

If you read the next couple of pages of the review he goes into a bit more detail about when you use each one.

If you want the manual why not download it from Sony?
