Sony Ericsson Update Service and Sync Software

Absolutely appalling! :mad:

After experiencing 12 months of Active Sync bliss, I now have to suffer the "will it work this time" and "trial and error" misery of Sony's poor software. Anyone else think it's that dire?

Nine months and counting until I can go back to Smartphone goodness...

Can't say I'm having any kind of problem at all.
The SE Update Service software I first downloaded when I got the phone wasn't great.
However they released a new version just before Christmas and it works first time every time for me - well on the two occasions I've known there was a firmware available for UK O2 versions of the W800i.

Haven't really experimented with the sync software, but again the latest version of it appears to do exactly what it says on the tin.
For uploading music I use a 20 in 1 card reader rather than a cable to my phone and the SE software.

Aye its pants

Ever since its been installed on my machine my mouse cuts out
and i have to reboot and sometimes the mouse works again

Pain in the arse it is means i have to do everything via BT dongle

Which in turn means i cant send stuff from my phone to PC

I can't get the downloaded program to install - tried several times and it just get to the install part, installs a few folders and then stops - have left it for a day or two and no progress. like it stalls mid-install

SE's sync software is quite picky about installation process and order. If you plug the cradle in too soon, or don't install things correctly, it doesn't work right.

Having said that, I have no problems at all with my P910i and the sync software.

Any ideas when the C600 will be out on Pay As You Go? I'm seriously thinking about selling the K750i (which as a phone is great, but I just miss the Outlook integration that the Smartphones do so well) and then buying a C600. If I did this, would my Orange care still be valid - or would I need to tell them that I changed phones?
