I'm at brent cross about to go into an EE shop and try out the above phones. I'm leaning towards the 64GB Galaxy S6 but wondered what the opinion is on the Experia Z3? It's water proof and EE have an audio bundle where they're giving a free pair of headphones. Thoughts?

It's a good question but I'm not sure. I just want something that is ultra fast and smooth, basically that does what my SGS2 does, but better. Built in GPS is certainly extremely important, like if one phone receives satellites quicker than the other.

If that's the case either phone will be good for you.

IMO:

GS6 has better camera/vid cam, great fingerprint sensor, better screen, fast charger in box.

Z3 - better battery life, waterproof, sd slot, front facing stereo speakers.

Thanks kona. Still leaning to the S6. There's a third one I've just spotted, the HTC 1. Very nice looking. Not 100% about the slightly curved back but nice all metal body. Is it my imagination or is it fractionally faster than the S6?

The S6 ought to be faster at loading apps, but certainly initially it was poor at caching them.

The HTC One M9's camera is still poor compared to the S6, and probably the Z3.

The price of the Z3 is very attractive at the moment, and it's not for lack of power or specs (it is slower, but you probably wouldn't know without benchmarks). In fact other than the camera and rather large chin and forehead, for day-to-day use you could very easily mark it out as superior to the S6. In the end, if you're stuck between the S6 and Z3, it's an easy choice in the favour of the Z3.

Hey guys, thanks for the advice. My phone battery died while in the shop, but I've got a bunch of prices now I'm mulling over. Shop closes at 8pm and I'm sitting in my car deciding and then I'll go and buy one.

Currently my monthly bills are £20 (50%.discount as my nephew works at HO) but upgrading means coming off flex 35 and it now goes down to 30%. My monthly cost will now be either £33 or £30 at 30% discount.

I can get any of those phones free depending on internal storage, data allowance and whether I pay £30 or £33 pm.

I listened to the stereo speakers on the HTC M9 and was very tempted, sounds great. Come on Samsung, that was the one thing you left out! But, I've decided to go with the S6. I really want that physical home button, I'm used to having one.
I don't know which package to buy though.

Turns out my internet usage a month has been less than 1GB on average. So I don't need much data allowance.

Soooo, these are my S6 options below:

£33pm unlimited mins & texts/2GB internet. S6 32GB free, 64GB £50 upfront. HTC & Z3 free.

With 5GB internet, S6 64GB is £70 upfront.

£30pm unlimited mins & texts/2GB internet. S6 32GB £49.99 upfront.

£33pm unlimited mins & texts/GB internet. S6 64GB £70 upfront.
(HTC free)

£30pm HTC is £50 upfront on 5GB data allowance or £29.99 on 2GB data allowance. Z3 free.

Help me decide guys. Only 30 mins left. :p
Basically, 32 or 64 GB? 2 or 5GB data allowance? Get S6 for free, pay £50, or pay £70?

I'm tempted to say sod it and go pay £70 for 64GB and 5GB data, shall I go for it? I'm liking the platinum gold version.

I'd get a dashmicro for storage and take the first 2gb option or not buy a dashmicro and pay £50 for the 64gb s6, I say I'd get but tbh I need 20gb or unlimited data.

I see you're leaning towards the 5gb go for it dude live life to the full.

grudas, he said it was probably through a third party seller and that there would be catch like losing my discount for good, or that there would be a hefty upfront premium to pay for the handset. Ah well, I was there and wanted a new phone so went for it.

I'm the proud owner of a 64GB S6 on 5GB data allowance. :)

I went S2 to S4 to Z3, Z3 is easy the favourite of the lot so far, S6 seemed to be going more iPhone than S2 which was my previous favourite and the Z3 feels like a S2 that's just better in every department.

S2 to S6 should be... quite an upgrade :D

Indeed, I get all the improvements from the other models plus any newer things. :D So in that respect, it feels more exciting by making such a big jump, rather than only seeing minor changes from S2 to 3 to 4 to 5.

Kenai, well so far, playing around with it, it's like going from a diesel peugeot to a subaru impreza. :p
