sorry to do this. 8-9k on a car

Why are you even still replying in this thread?

Becuase it's a discussion on what may or may not be good to get with a budget of £9k. In a discussion, people express opinions. Thats whats happening in this thread. It's really rather polite and it's going quite well.

Until you showed up, obviously, but then thats always the way with people like yourself. Thread goes swimmingly until you turn up and derail it.

Let someone have a thread in Motors that isn't tainted by your filth for once.

Nice over-reaction. Tainted by filth? Oh come on, its only the internet.

FWIW, a quick glance at the front page of Motors reveals that of the threads visible, 75% are not tainted by my filth becuase I've only posted in 25% of them. But dont let that get in the way of your stupid little rant.

I derailed what?

OP: want something that is quite quick.

doesnt matter about MPG as i dont do that many miles.

has to be smalish.

Fox, after several attempts to wind people up:
So it's awesome and nice when crawling out of a congested citycentre at 5pm when its dark and raining is it? It's £10k worth of nice in that situation?

Relevant as ever, well done. If he'd wanted a luxobarge he would have asked for something quite comfortable.

Of course the DC2 is perfectly ok for town driving, light clutch and nicely weighted steering, even the engine is quiet at low revs. What else could you ask for?
Granted it's not so refined it will send you to sleep with boredom, it's nowhere near as bad as few journalists have made out in the past.

Neil.

You've completely missed my point, by miles. I've not recommended a luxobarge and I'm not going to. My point is simply that the DC2 is a really rather old car now and as a result, if you've got a reasonably large budget it's less worth of consideration than it would be were you spending, say, £5k. £10k is a lot to spend on a car which, when you are not exploiting it's awesome handling and performance, is virtually the same inside and to drive as a 1994 Honda Civic, £995 in the local free-ads.

THAT is my point. And not a luxobarge in sight.

A DC5, Clio 182, even a Civic Type R is newer, more modern and more worthy of £9500.

182 over a ITR no chance.

I do semi agree however, unless your really into cars, you wont appreciate what the ITR is about, and it will be a wasted purchase unless you really plan to drive the car properly.

Exactly and, to be honest, if you are that into your hardcore Hondas like Neil is, you wouldnt post on here 'What should I buy'. You'd just know you needed a Teg.

Isn't it interesting how what I say takes on a totally different meaning if you've not convinced yourself before even opening the thread that I'm trying to get the OP to buy a BMW 7 Series?

Apart from the red recaros, red carpets/mats, momo steering wheel, titanium gear knob with unique build number plate and carbon fibre style dials/stereo surround I guess they're similar:p
