At that size, I would definitely go for an LCD 1080p.
If you were going bigger, I would probably favor plasma.
If you are looking to use it as a monitor - I suggest looking for in-depth reviews that will tell you the panel type, response time, input lag and ensure there is at least 1 more HDMI slot than you need (so you can plug in a PC).

Ok sorry to add to the topic:
1.The Dell 3007wfp comes in revision A02, what does this mean in practical differences to the A01 revision?
2. What does HC edition mean?
High colour, more gamut or something
3. I have a 8800GT 512mb, does this have "dual dvi"?
4. Will the above card be powerful enough to drive the monitor?
5. Is there any reasion a 3008 is much better than a 3007?
Apparently it has more lag and more connections, so a gift and a curse
