As ive said before I'm running my 360 on my dell2405 and curently have a cheap set of speakers 5.1 that I got for my pc and were perfectly adequate.

It has no other inputs so I can connect my 360 to it but I'm robbing my pc of a channel or only getting one channel on my xbox360. Its ok for now but not great.

So i'm looking for a good 5.1 set up or maybe even 2.1 that I can connect both the 360 and PC too. I also dont want to have to have the pc on when i just want to use the xbox.

Do any of these fit that criteria

Creative I-Trigue 5.1 5600 Speakers - Retail (SP-052-CL)

Creative GigaWorks 5.1 G500 THX® Pro Gamer Speakers - Retail (SP-067-CL)

Logitech Z-5400 THX® Certified 5.1 310 Watts Speakers - Retail (SP-035-LG)

Which one is the best bet and will they do the job I want.? Any other better suggestion will be gratefully recieved :)

Thanks again to boogle who helped me get my sound running so far :)

Thanks guys can you do me a favour, whats the dimensions of the sub, how big is it?

So the logitech would enable me to run both without cable switching or having power on?

Yeah I did look at that option but Its all set up in a box room, the sound quality just needs to be a as good as it was with the £50 phillips speakers I had but with more inputs so I dont need to switch stuff around of lose channels by splitting. I see your edit and I know what you mean but I really wont be watching TV up here just pc and xbox :)

The 5500's are the only one's tbh in that lot. I've been considering them too, but that colossal sub is putting me off. I've no room for that bugger in this wee bedroom :/

Hang on I'm talking about this set up

Logitech Z-5400 THX® Certified 5.1 310 Watts Speakers - Retail (SP-035-LG)

Not the 5500? So with the 5400 I will still be able to 5.1 both my xbox and pc?

No, from the looks lof the 5400, you'll just flip a switch on the main controller box to select from optical (360) to 6channel (PC) easily.

Thanks, thats not too much hardship.

Kainz the wireless ones, thats the rear ones only that are wireless. Do they eat batteries? Whats the battery life?

Each rear speaker requires a powerpoint :/ So not truly 'wireless'. At first I assumed they used batteries too at first.

Ah ok never mind Would be easier to run speaker cable :) but your right the 5500 control box looks much better.

Just got and set up my logitech Z-5400 speaker set, very impressive bit of kit. Sadly I dont have a optical cable right now so I can play my 360 through it til tommorow :(

Awesome sound through the PC though :) The slight buzz of the sub and speakers is slightly annoying when they are powered up but not playing anything but I will get used to it.

Also when it said 8 inch sub I thought that was gonna be its size, but the thing is huge. I now have somewhere to rest and warm my feet in winter.

Thanks again for the help guys.

I have a 4 inch gap from the sub to my pc, should be safe surely? Should be shielded enough. Yeah the sub on yours is even bigger than the one I have.
